Bedroom pod

A bedroom pod is a separate sleeping compartment. In a tent listing it usually means a sleeping area inside a larger tent, often with its own walls and zip. In glamping listings it can also mean a separate sleeping unit beside the main area.

Where you'll see it

Family tent and glamping listings use the term in their spec or feature lists, often with a berth for each pod. The product page should say whether the pod is inside the tent or a separate unit. Campsite pages rarely mention pods, so check the listing for the pitch size instead.

What to check

  • Whether the pod sits inside the main tent or is a separate unit, as the product page states.
  • The berth the maker lists for each pod, and whether each has its own door or zip.
  • Whether the pods share a groundsheet, or whether each has its own floor.
  • The ventilation the maker describes for each pod, such as mesh panels or vents.
  • The pitch size the maker lists, compared with the pitch on your booking page.
  • Berth: the number of people a sleeping space is rated for.
  • Tunnel tent: a design that often has more than one sleeping area.
  • Ventilation: how air moves through a tent, which matters in each sleeping area.
