Sleeping bag liner
A sleeping bag liner is a thin bag that goes inside your sleeping bag. It adds a layer of warmth, helps keep the sleeping bag clean, and is usually easier to wash than the bag itself.
Where you'll see it
Liners are sold on their own, in camping and outdoor shops, and sometimes listed as an accessory on a sleeping bag product page. Their fabrics vary, so check the maker's description for the fabric and for whether it gives any rating.
What to check
- The fabric, such as silk, cotton or fleece, and what the maker says it adds.
- Whether the liner fits the shape of your bag, mummy or rectangular.
- Whether the maker gives a rating for the liner, or only describes it.
- The forecast low for your site, and whether the bag and liner together are enough.
