Camp bed
A camp bed is a folding bed with a fabric base on a metal or plastic frame, which lifts you off the ground. It packs into a bag and sets up without a pump.
Where you'll see it
Camp beds are listed with tents, bedding and glamping kit, and on product pages that compare sleeping options. The maker's page should give the assembled size and the folded size. Check the folded size as well, because it decides whether the bed fits in your car and tent bag.
What to check
- The assembled size, and whether it fits the sleeping area of your tent with room for bags.
- The folded size on the box or the maker's page, against your car and tent bag.
- The load limit on the label or the maker's page, for the people who will use it.
- Whether the frame needs a level, firm surface, as the maker directs.
- Whether it comes with a carry bag, and how the fabric should be cleaned and dried.
