Packed size
Packed size is how big a tent, bag or other kit is when it is folded and stored in its carry bag. It is usually given as length, width and height, and it tells you how much room the kit will take up.
Where you'll see it
You will see packed size on product pages and boxes, often next to the weight. It helps you judge whether the kit will fit in a car boot, a roof box or a backpack. Makers measure it in their own way, so compare like with like, and check whether the figure includes the carry bag.
What to check
- The dimensions and weight the maker lists for the packed kit, not only the tent.
- Whether the figure includes the carry bag, which can add to the overall size.
- Whether the figure covers the tent alone, or the tent with its poles and pegs.
- The space in your car or roof box, measured before you buy.
